Holly Pickering is a trained Audio Describer. She completed her training with Arts Disability Ireland, Minds Eye Audio Description Training, and The Lir Academy in 2026.
Working across film, contemporary art, dance and theatre, she is interested in the poetic and political possibilities of Audio Description (AD), considering it as an art form in its own right, following Sarah Hayden’s assertion that “(AD) must first and always make visual material accessible to blind and low-vision users.” Upcoming projects include Norma with Irish National Opera at the Gaiety Theatre (2026), and an Abbas Zahedi’s solo exhibition EX/IT: LIFT at The Douglas Hyde Gallery (2026).
